Javea

Javea is a gem of a town  located on the Northern Costa Blanca, midway between Alicante and Valencia. Many might say it is the finest place on the whole Costa Blanca. It is a town of great beauty, magical landscapes and has 20 km of rugged coastline with pure blue sparkling waters. The town is split into three main areas. The historic Old Town, the Port and the Arenal.
The old original town of Jávea has remained almost untouched by tourism and consists of a maze winding streets with white house fronts adorned with wrought iron grilles and Gothic style windows. There are numerous shops, bars and small intimate restaurants clustered around the impressive fortified church of San Bartolomé which dates from the 15th century.

The port has real charm and character of its own with its marina, fresh fish market and fisherman's church. It has a long
promenade and pebble beach, which is lovely to sit and sample the local wines while watching the fisherman bringing in their daily catch. It is a bustling shopping area, with many bars and restaurants as well as hotels.

At the southern end of the bay is the Arenal, a wide sandy beach, perfect for families with a palm fringed promenade lined with many bars, cafes and fine restaurants.
There are a number of areas where people have chosen to live, whether it be an apartment or townhouse in the port or near the beach, or a villa in an urbanisation or the countryside.
