Lliria is situated just off the CV35 to the north of Valencia. This pretty town with a lively community of around 18,000 residents, is set amongst mountains and has excellent amenities, several schools, two music colleges, large public auditorium supermarkets, a cinema, sports centre with a swimming pool as well as the usual array of Spanish tapas bars and restaurants. Should you wish to travel into Valencia there is a metro station which will take you directly into the city. Lliria is famous for its world class brass bands and is the capital of music for the Valencian Community. At the heart of the town is a delightful square with a newly restored huge church and the town hall. There is a small municipal market open each day until 2pm and a weekly market every Thursday. Overlooking the town, is the Monastary which dominates the landscape. At the centre of Lliria is the historic centre with white washed houses and steep winding streets at the top of which is an Archeological Museum which also hosts a world music festival each August.
