Jumilla
Jumilla is located in the province of Murcia. The town has 26,000 residents. Jumilla occupies part of a narrow valley enclosed by mountains. Jumilla is an important wine growing area and is surrounded by endless fields of vineyards. Grapes have been the principal crop here for more than two thousand years, in particular the local Monastrell grape. Some of the wineries that exist today date from the 19th century. The main market for Jumilla wines is now abroad- if you look carefully you may well see it on the shelves in your local UK supermarket!
Jumilla holds its annual fiesta for around 10 days from the 15th August, a festival whose origins can be traced back to the 14th century. Since the seventies, the annual fair has also become the Jumilla Wine Harvest Festival, the perfect occasion for sampling the region's wines. A fountain is installed from which flows wine rather than water, there are fireworks displays, a mock battle of Moors and Christians and, the highlight, a big parade.
Our feature is the Residencial Santa Ana, Jumilla Golf which is still in its very early stages of development, allowing for tremendous capital growth. There will be low rise apartments, quad houses and detached villas all surrounding two 18 hole golf courses There will be a luxury hotel with spa facilities, a multi sports complex, numerous heated swimming pools, shops, restaurants and even a top Equestrian centre. <Click here> .
