Altea

Altea is located in the Spanish region of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. It is  without doubt one of the most charming towns to be found on the Costa Blanca. Just north of its neighbour Calpe, it is similar to most towns in that it offers an old and a new part. The old town with its steep slopes and  stepped streets  is perched on top of a hill and offers spectacular views. The new part has a wide palm lined promenade along the beach, with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. If you want all night discos and the bright city lights , give Altea a miss. This town is very pretty and a haven for the more discerning who will be captivated by its medieval cobbled streets, its picture book old quarter and the delights of its palm-fringed seafront esplanade.
