Cocentaina is a relaxed Spanish town with a Moorish influence in the province of Alicante with a population of 10,600 at the last count. The local economy is based mainly around the well -established textile industry though agriculture, albeit to a lesser degree, is undoubtedly still of considerable importance. The town has a variety of shops and a weekly market on Thursdays. It is 60km from Valencia and 110km from Alicante .
